Todorov's Theory
Todorov's thoery states that films have an order/structure of narrative:
Applying this to the film The Proposal:
1. woman is happy in her high payed join in New York
2. Her visa runs out to be in America
3. she is told she will have to leave her job and be replaced as she has to go back to Canada
4. she tells everyone she is engaged to her American citizen assistant
5- they fall in love and live happily ever after.
