Production Diary

Week 1-2
On our first week we looked at genre and all the aspects that determines a films genre we then went on to analysed a two minute film opening which we then presented to our class.
After this we then had to make a pitch for our own film using the knowledge we had just learned to practice.

Week 2-3
We went on to learn the camera shots /angles how they work and what they are most commonly used for /to create .
We also began to learn more about genre signifiers , such as the chicken and the egg dilemma

Week 3-4
At this stage we went on to learn how to analyse still images and after a lesson of learning how to we went off to take our own still images and analyse them.
After that our homework was to analyse a movie poster using the things we had learnt.

Week 4-5
We went on to learn about movie budgets ( high budget and low budget ) and compare the two.
We then went on to learn ways in which the audience receive the media - reception theory, the male gaze and Tordorov's theory.

We  then started preparing for one of our preliminary tasks - a film opening , which in this time we planned and filmed our film opening uaing what we had learnt in our previous lessons.

Week 5-6
In our last period of time  before  half term we planned and film our preliminary task for the opening of Juno , this was our hardest topic so far , as we had to film the shots similar to the complex ones used for the exact amount of time and complete all the transitions similar to the bit of the scene.

  1. At the moment, your blog is currently reaching a High LEVEL 2. This is because you have most of the work on your blog and you have begun to develop how this research and planning is aiding you with your final project.

In order to achieve a Level 3, it is important that you include all work on your blog and you have analysed everything in depth for the conventions of a film opening. It is also vital that you reflect on what you are doing, showing improvement from both peer and self-assessment. In your production diary, ensure you say what you have 'learnt', rather than just the tasks you completed.
